Great Discoveries Start with Great Geological Mapping
Geological Mapping Continues to Drive Exploration Success Across Dalaroo's Portfolio
While drilling often attracts the headlines, geological mapping remains one of the most important stages of mineral exploration. By understanding the rocks, structures and geological processes that control mineralisation, exploration teams can significantly improve targeting and reduce exploration risk.
Across Dalaroo's portfolio, geological mapping has played a central role in advancing both the Gold Ridge Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire and the Blue Lagoon Rare Earth Project in Southern Greenland.
At Gold Ridge, early geological mapping identified favourable lithological contacts, fold-related structures, quartz veining and regional structural corridors that formed the basis of the Company's exploration model. As subsequent soil geochemistry, geophysical interpretation and field observations were integrated, those geological interpretations proved highly predictive, supporting the expansion of the known mineralised system from an initial 2.5km target to an approximately 7km gold corridor and the definition of three priority drill target areas.
At Blue Lagoon, ongoing geological mapping is providing equally important insights into the evolution of the rare earth system. The identification of four distinct granite phases, numerous aplite sills, beryl-bearing pegmatites and interpreted alkaline intrusive rocks has significantly improved Dalaroo's understanding of the hard-rock source responsible for the rare earth-bearing sediments discovered during the inaugural exploration program. These observations continue to strengthen the Company's source-to-sink exploration model and provide an increasingly robust framework for future drill targeting.
Although the commodities and geological settings differ, the outcome has been the same: better geological understanding has driven better exploration outcomes.
By integrating detailed field mapping with geochemistry, geophysics and ongoing sampling programs, Dalaroo continues to build high-quality geological models that guide exploration and maximise the potential for discovery. As work progresses across both projects, geological mapping will remain a cornerstone of the Company's strategy to unlock the full potential of its gold and rare earth assets.
